Our client a high-frequency proprietary trading firm is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to provide technical direction for their global Desktop and Mobility engineering group. The engineer will work closely with team members in the Enterprise Technology division to ensure desktop and mobile designs are implemented to meet organizational and security requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing, deploying, and troubleshooting Desktop/Mobile technologies to meet architectural and security requirements in an Open Source friendly setting
  • Engineering and administering the wireless infrastructure within the firm to facilitate connectivity between Enterprise end points for internal resources
  • Overseeing and operating the central management platform for both Linux and Windows systems
  • Developing and managing NetApp storage as it relates to the Enterprise environment
  • Administering the VoIP infrastructure


Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience in Ubuntu image management with in-depth understanding of installation, configuration, administration, and tuning
  • Prior experience working in large scale desktop environments
  • In depth knowledge of RHEL Linux 5.x / 6.x / 7.x, SALT stack
  • Scripting ability (PERL, PowerShell, BASH)


Experience in:

  • Windows 10, SCCM, Kerberos/Group Policies
  • NetApp file storage
  • Wireless Access Points (Aruba)
  • Phone infrastructure (FreePBX)


Nice to have:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
