This is a senior position facing off to the CRO and CIO for a top tier hedge fund with over $25bn in AUM. The role can be based in Chicago, San Francisco or New York.
The role sits in between the CRO and the CIO and will involve becoming the key point of contact for leadership to remain on top of the dynamics of various equities businesses. There are 4 main equities businesses, each with sub divisions. This role will involve prioritizing and shaping the research agenda across the entire equities business.
Key features of this role will include:
Understanding the portfolio construction processes in the various
Equities businesses and staying on top of day-to-day performance dynamics for
each.
Consolidating and standardizing the day-to-day reporting of performance
across the various components of the business.
Architect / develop and roll out an MIS system in order to capture,
qualify and rank investment researchers
and their output based on KPI’s.
Identify key performance
indicators that are common to top tier researchers.
Distil from research and
identify key metrics that can be used to assess the quality of research.
Build a team (2-3) to help
with the above.
An ideal candidate will be/have:
A senior investment professional with a deep
understanding of equities and significant skill and experience in the area of
portfolio construction and portfolio attribution analysis for long / short
global equity portfolios.
Highly analytical and data oriented.
Strong quantitative, statistical skills.
Willing to get your hands dirty and script, prototype and
model build using R/Python.
Excellent communication skills.
Commercial, politically astute, with good judgement and
the ability to lead a small team analytics team.
MS / PhD level education from a top tier university.
