Our Client is seeking talented Data Visualization Engineers at various levels to help grow their Central Data Organization. Data is the foundation of their investment strategy and the effective management of data in its various forms (both structured and unstructured) is critical to maintaining the expansion of the firm. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and rapidly growing organization within a leading global hedge fund. Our team is at the forefront of big data and leveraging cutting edge tools and techniques.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Assist Investment Research Analysts in the empirical valuation and forecasting of securities to aid in the ongoing portfolio research process.
- Support ongoing evaluation of financial information from financial data providers and other sources that lead to superior investment research strategies.
- Build tools and services to enhance and distribute critical research data content and distribute portfolio analytics within the investment research team.
- Design, develop and deploy full stack responsive applications, involving technology platforms from both the front and back end services.
Suggested skills / experience:
- Solid training from a leading academic institution in Software Engineering, Economics, Finance
- High attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and computational skills
- Tenacious with strong problem solving capabilities
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- 3+ years' experience with cluster/cloud technologies & BI Tools (e.g. Apache Spark, AWS, Tableau)
- 3+ years' experience programming
- 3+ years' experience with web technologies (HTML / CSS /JSON / REST)
- Exposure to Node.js, Angular.js JavaScript frameworks desired
Education
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or computer science or related field of study. Masters preferred
